The United Airlines Journey to SharePoint 2016 and Beyond

SharePoint Conference 2019 is only a few days away and I am excited to be able to share the United Airlines story.  This journey began back in 2013 when I first started at UA.  I was eager to get to work and pave the way to the latest version of SharePoint.  It wasn't until 6 years later that we finally got upgraded, not to 2013, but to SharePoint 2016 and now we are in the process of planning for the next migration to SPO/SharePoint 2019.

The past 6 years has been a memorable journey.  One that was filled with many forks in the road, and many lessons learned along the way. My story isn't just a United Airlines story, but one of many companies.  The challenges I faced, many others have also faced somewhere else.  Getting to share my experiences also has given me the opportunity to learn from others and in turn, I take that back with me to help further our journey.

Join me and hear first hand how my team and I envisioned, planned and executed our migration to 2016 as well as what our plans are moving forward. The project planning involved, the preparation in advance, the design of our migration strategy and the execution of it all.
